About Chapora Fort, Goa
The Chapora fort lies at a distance of approximately 20-25 kms from Panjim. It is close to the Anjuna beach. The fort is easily accessible from Vagator over the hill leading to the fort. This fort is now in ruins. This fort was constructed in 1617 by the Portuguese invaders by demolishing an earlier Muslim structure. The fort is built out of red laterite stones. From this fort one gets and amazing view of the ocean and the surrounding areas. This fort became famous among the tourist after the Bollywood "Dil Chahata Hai" was shot.
